Forest Area Community Schools Select Superintendent

The Forest Area Community Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution to begin contract negotiations with Mr. Mike Moran to serve as the district’s Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Moran is currently the Forest Area Middle/High School Principal.

There were thirteen applicants for the position. The School Board conducted first round interviews with four candidates on November 27th and 28th. The Board invited two final candidates back for open houses followed by final interviews on December 5th. After each interview, written feedback was collected from the public. The school board reviewed the public feedback prior to their deliberations.

The Board expressed profound appreciation for the strengths of both final candidates. After Board discussion of both finalists and what each might bring to the role of superintendent, Board Trustee Kevin Thayer made the motion to begin contract negotiations with Mr. Moran. Board Secretary Krysta Beyer seconded the motion which then received the unanimous support of the board. When the board meets to approve a contract with Mr. Moran, his hiring as the next
Superintendent of Schools for the Forest Area Community Schools will be official.
